Paleo brownies to die for!

I know I just posted yesterday but this Paleo brownie recipe that I made last night is just TOOOO good not to share. You need these in your life!

Okay, I’m not one of those, “Oh, it’s Paleo but it tastes just like the real thing”, people when in fact it doesn’t taste like the real thing at all, it’s worse. I’ll be the first to tell you that a lot of healthy foods absolutely do not taste as good as pizza and donuts. They just don’t. That’s when you throw out that disgusting recipe and move on to the next one. You will eventually find recipes that are healthy but also taste good. I promise they exist. They’re out there! How do I know this? I know this because I just discovered this brownie recipe that is to die for! I’m serious people, this one is better than the homemade brownies you make using refined sugar, butter and flour. I’m not lying! If you don’t believe me, try it for yourself. I dare you… 🙂 hehe

These brownies are Paleo, well, they have chocolate chips in them so they’re not 100% Paleo but they’re close enough. They come out a little gooey, which I personally love, and they have a very rich dark chocolate flavor. If you love chocolate, you will love these for sure! I’m a frosted brownie type of girl but I didn’t need any frosting on these, they’re perfect.

These are so easy to make and only use 8 ingredients. I swear the worst part of this recipe is waiting 45 minutes for them to finish baking. Okay, enough jibber jabber, recipe below.

Ingredients:
1 cup pure maple syrup
3/4 cup natural cocoa powder
1 cup almond butter
2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 egg
1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions:

-Heat syrup on low heat on the stove. Stir in cocoa powder over low heat until smooth. Cocoa powder can burn easily so make sure you continuously stir until combined.

-Once combined, remove syrup/cocoa mixture from heat and stir in remaining ingredients until thoroughly mixed.

-Pour into an 8×8 baking pan greased with coconut oil. Bake at 325F for 45 minutes.

-Use a toothpick to make sure it’s cooked through.

That’s it!! I don’t even have to say “enjoy” because I know you will.

**Please forgive my cell phone pics of the finished product. They don’t do these brownies justice!
